This past week I finished up a really fun project for SNAP! Learning. The theme was explorers of sea and space, these selects are from the space section. The first is about the race to space! The client wanted a two page spread that tied together in the background. On the right you’ve got a boy looking out his rocket towards the moon and on the left you have the ‘race to space’ with the russians. In the lead is the first dog ( russian dog ) in space, followed by a cosmonaut whom is followed by the U.S. LOADS of details to fit on a 5 x 4.5 square area ( 5×9 total ). The second selection are of a series of vocabulary words. Starting at the top left and moving clockwise ( orbit, budget ( specifically space research budget ), weightless, and sputnik the satellite. The last select is a scene from one of the stories about a boy going to ride the ‘vomit comet’. The art director wanted the ride to appear like it was so tall that it actually went into outer space… can you imagine coming down? :) More news later!
