There’s a conceptual reason I used sad dippy birds in my Alibi magazine illustration about an underperforming surface water treatment plant. But there is also a cuteness-factor reason! New Mexico is a hot and dry place and water conservation is a huge issue there. They’ve already reduced their water consumption per person by a good amount over the last few years, it’s very inspiring!
