Sometimes as an illustrator one has to deal with exceptionally mundane subject matter, such as crock-pots. I always do my best to make the ordinary, extraordinary. I would like to believe that here we have a good example of just that. Without delving too deeply into fantasy I created a rather magical and engaging depiction of an every day scene. The illustration is reminiscent of children’s books and magical cauldrons, while still satisfying the needs of the article, which was an ode to the joys of crock-pot cookery.
