British Gothic

Art/history: Here is my British Gothic, featuring Ma Whitelaw & Pa Beckett. Thick as thieves, were these two. They met in 1963 & had an intense platonic relationship as poet & thespian soulmates until his death in 1989. Together, they created theatrical napalm – Billie lending her exceptional acting skills to Beckett’s plays. Especially frantic was ‘Not I’. I won’t describe it. Superlatives cheapen it. You should seek it out for yourself. You’ll see what I mean. Warning: you’ll come away smitten by Irish literary genius, Samuel Beckett (born in 1906).
