Postcards! Calling all members!

Calling all members! We’re doing a big postcard order this weekend. So if you’d like to be included in our current batch of mail packs, send Darren an email for printing information.

We send out our mail packs to clients across the globe and each pack is catered to the recipient. We’ve found over the years that physical mailers are still appreciated by the clients on our mailing lists. We think it’s also the personal touches we include and actually being able to hold something physical that makes this type of promotion we do so special. We’re not hipsters*, but we do feel old is the new new.

* Slightly guilty of having a beard**, owning a record player and wearing t-shirts with pugs on.

** Darren only, Jane does not have a beard. I repeat Jane does not have a beard. 🙂

Santa, Snowmen & Reindeer, it must be the Christmas Mail Packs!

The order of members’ (mostly) seasonal postcards for the final mail packs of this year have just arrived from the printer! We’ve also had some nice Christmassy ones sent to us directly from members, so the mail packs will be full of festive cheer.

We’ll be busy getting everything organised and posting out the sample cards to the illustrators today, then we’re ready to start putting the mail packs together next week. Once these have been sent out to clients, we’ll be holding back on sending any more mail packs until around mid-January to give everyone time to get back into the swing of work again.

It’s twenty days until Christmas and we hope everyone’s looking forward to it. We know we are!

Showcase 100 - An Illustration Project, Exhibition & Book

The Little Chimp Society announced the final 100 illustrators who had been selected for the Showcase 100 project (which we’re the official partners of) a little while ago now. We just wanted to congratulate the winning illustrators on making it into the exhibition and book as they were up against some very tough competition with there being over 1,400 entries of high quality work submitted for only one hundred places.

At the moment, The LCS is busy creating a detailed publication to accompany the project and framing all the work for the show. As a project partner we would like to extend an invitation to the exhibition to all of our readers. If you’d like to join us in London (UK) next April you can find the details at sc100.co.uk or sign up to let us know you’re coming on the Facebook event page.

The first 400 will be heading off to the US at the end of the week.

Mad Men, Mad Illustrators!

We were really chuffed to receive our set of this year’s promotional coasters from the Anna Goodson Management illustration agency. They feature artwork by each of Anna’s wonderful artists and are well worth the wait every year. However, we think the artists and agency have outdone themselves this time around with their Mad Men TV show theme!

There are 35 in the set – check out the photos for a selection of the coasters 🙂

Some very distinguished visitors

We were very happy to receive the latest collectible trading cards from the talented Mr Chet Phillips this morning! Chet very kindly sent us the Artistic Pets and Literary Pets 2 sets, which feature such eminent artists and authors as Labrador Dali, Oscar Wildecat, Franz Katka, MichelangeLab and Edgar Allan Pug. There are 20 cards in each set, which come nicely packaged in their own little portfolio. These are really lovely, and would make great original gifts for cat, dog, art and literature lovers alike.

Artistic Pets and Literary Pets (1 & 2) are available to buy, along with 8″ x 10″ prints of the characters, from Chet’s Etsy shop.

You can see more of Chet’s work at his Hai! portfolio and on his website.
