Nico189 began as a graffiti writer in southern Italy.
His love of lettering and graphic design led him to move to Milan where he studied graphic and type design, deepening his knowledge of new languages of visual communication and getting in touch with reality artistically stimulating.

The combination of graffiti and graphics can be traced in many of his works, often identified by the use of typography and geometric shapes.
He often draws inspiration from music and the old street scene and he never lost the habit of starting his art projects on paper.
