I’m back yet again with another image. At the end of last month I was approached by the John Cass Business Universties student magazine asking if I could produce a piece of work for them relating to an article they have written about their on going charity work in Ethiopa with a childrens orphanage called ‘Hanna’s Orphanage’. I was very priviliged to be asked to do this, and now, a month or soon after, I feel extremely priviliged to be able to show my vision of what these wonderful, self-less people do. The volunteers give up their time to go over there and help children much less fortunate then people in this country, and I think its remarkable.
In the image I have portrayed the orphanage as an extremely happy place, which regarding the circumstances, it seems to be. All over we have various activities going on, like basketball, football, skipping, hop-scotch, teaching from the volunteers, running and invented games. My aim at the beginning of this commission was to portray the work of the volunteers and the happiness they try to spread. I hopefully achieved this in my image.
This has been an extremely fun image to work on, and also heart felt. May the work of the volunteers and the University carry on. They deserve all the recognition.
Whats up next for me? Hopefully another commission all the way from the States. More news as it comes!
Thank for reading!
