John W. Tomac had the rare opportunity to illustrate a feature about himself for the July issue of Runner’s World. In September 2009, John was diagnosed with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia. A little over a year later he ran and finished the New York City Marathon in under three hours. The story was a perfect fit for the issues’ focus on the intersection of cancer and running.
