The Printed Bolt (www.theprintedbolt.com) is currently hosting a fabric design competition. There are ten finalists, myself included, participating. There are six rounds of challenges that end when the competition finishes in August. A panel of judges vote and eliminate two contestants after each round. The first challenge was about creating two small-scale “Tiny Dwelling” prints that also show its inhabitants. I decided to coordinate my prints in colorway and in keeping the theme the same: mobile homes. The first print, Little RV on the Prairie features man-made mobile homes in a trailer park. The second print features natural “mobile homes” in the ocean. It was really fun working on these projects and while I didn’t win the first challenge, I did make it through to the next stage, so stay tuned for more patterns!
