John W. Tomac was hired to create this illustration for The Washington Post’s Outlook section. The art appears alongside a story on the Obama White House’s war on leakers. In an effort to stop would-be whistleblowers from disclosing classified information, the Department of Justice has been applying pressure to journalists. The administration has even used the World War I-era Espionage Act to prosecute some reporters.
