Does Corn After Corn Pay?

In the waning days of 2013, I had the pleasure of working with Art Director Matt Strelecki of Successful Farming on a pair of assignments. First up, a timely story on navigating Obamacare. With the major provisions of Obamacare taking affect, I’m sure that there will be no shortage of caduceus art this month. Here’s mine.

The other story I illustrated was about corn. Specifically, things farmers should have on their minds when planting continuous corn–that is planting corn in the same field year after year. Traditionally, farmers rotate crops because its better for the soil. However, sometimes it makes sense financially not to do that.
