The Great Beauty film poster

I had a couple of days to kill so thought I would have a go at making a film poster. Paulo Sorrentino’s The Great Beauty was an easy choice, being my favourite film of last year and from one of my favourite directors, whose stylish films always have plenty to offer in terms of visual inspiration and mood. I wanted to move away from the busy, bright feel of much of my recent work and go for a more stripped-back, spacious and minimal look, picking out a few key aspects of the film, namely disenchantment and isolation, ageing and the backdrop of luxury high-life and culture of Rome.
