Crazy Climb

As an independent Illustrator I love all the different jobs that land in my inbox. One of the more wacky jobs that has come my way was being approached by a climbing wall manufacturer who wanted a couple of panels designed for a new climbing wall that would introduce new people to the sport in a fun and unique way. I was asked to come up with a variety of concepts creating bright and silly characters that people could climb on. An alien panel and a house with a drainpipe were two of the designs I completed for the company.

Once the designs were finalised, working out the layers of the design to create foot and hand holds was the next challenge, making sure the design had lots of options so that it was not impossible to climb up.

The design was showcased at the outdoor show in London. I will never forget walking into the huge arena and seeing my designs 10 meters high with people climbing their way to the top.

It was a great project to work on.
