It’s always been my dream to work on a Marvel title, and Spiderman has long been my favourite character. Now that Marvel have made a deal with Sony to allow the character to feature in the hugely popular Avengers movies, I’m expecting to see a massive leap in the wallcrawler’s popularity.

With this in mind, I went to my art mentor, Charlie Adlard (current artist on the Walking Dead series) and asked him his opinion of my latest work. He said he thought I was getting to the point where I was good enough to do professional covers for mainstream comics and suggested I whip up a few more samples.

This is the first one I’ve completed. Next on the list are other favourite characters Judge Dredd, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many more. Hopefully this is the first step towards working full time in the comic world. And who knows, maybe I’ll someday break into the world of Spiderman!

"I CAN NOT WAIT for you to see the cover illustration (Alex did) for the next Jackson Speed novel. It is glorious. When my youngest son saw the first draft of the cover, he said, “You’re going to have to write a better book to go with that cover.”
