Pearlfisher, a strategic creative and brand design agency based in London and New York, commissioned Steven Noble to illustrate the famous Cutty Sark, a British clipper ship and London Landmark, in stormy seas. Built in 1869,the ship was one of the last tea clippers to be built and one of the fastest, coming at the end of a long period of design development which halted as sailing ships gave way to steam propulsion. The illustration depicts hidden and subliminal creatures in the ocean waves which adds drama and adventure to the long journey the ship had to endure through the rough seas. The illustration was used on the bottle carton packaging.
