Creativity and the Brain

I was asked by Architectural Record to illustrate a special ‘Architecture and Creativity’ feature in their May issue. The article explores the quest by neuroscientists to unlock the mystery of what sparks visionary thinking and artistic invention.

The illustration highlights the concept of how architects can formulate ideas from multi-sensory sources, from colours, textures, sketches and objects, and make connections and new associations within the brain. The article further explores how these connections could be an important part of the creative process and help formulate the ‘eureka’ moment.
