How many years have you been a freelance illustrator?
Six years, after a very long freelance career of working as a designer in the print industry. And before that I worked as a mural painter where I learned my computer skills on the job from trial and error.

What can your work be applied to commercially?
Most of my illustrations have been used for fantasy/sci-fi genre projects. Some of those projects are for trading cards, book covers, or game art.

Where would you most like to see your illustrations being used?
I’ve been very lucky to already have my illustrations on Magic cards. That’s one of the first answers I’d have given if it already hadn’t happened. I’d still like to work on a Warcraft project.

What inspires you?
My great friends in this industry. They are a constant source of inspiration.

Apart from illustration, what other skills do you have?
I still use my design skill set. And photo-retouching. I’m grateful that my previous jobs have had some use as I moved forward in my illustration career.

What’s your favourite sandwich filling?
Corned beef from the famous Manny’s Deli here in Chicago. But only once or twice a year.
