Sugar Hush with writer Yana Kushner

I just wrapped up a picture book project for a private client funded by ADA Institute for Diversity in Leadership. The book is meant to promote healthy eating habits in kids from disadvantaged backgrounds.

It’s a lovely story about a little boy who goes into a magical land which will grant his sugary wishes, but not all is as it seems. In a little mix of classical and dessert fantasies, he finds the strength to say no to sugar.

Please enjoy a few illustrations from the project!

Prytula’s painted illustrations are fantastic, rendering realistic, incredibly detailed nature scenes with swirls of color and texture. - Kirkus Review _________ The illustrations in Little Moss, Big Tree are outstanding. Light pastel watercolors fill the page and invite the reader to escape and all the trees, snail, animals, and leaves are illustrated accurately with soft hues of color. __________ You taught me what was possible and expected when working with other artists. You were so patient with me while working through an unfamiliar etiquette. It was a real kindness. - Client feedback
