I had the pleasure of producing a series of feature illustrations for the Spring edition of CAMRA’s (Campaign for Real Ale) excellent Beer Magazine, published by Think Publishing. As the cover explains, the feature was all about weird and unusual ingredients used by a number of intrepid brewers in their beers, which include woodlice, chicken, bacon, limpets, jellyfish and all manner of fruit, flowers, spices and other plant products. The final illo is a humourous take on some of the points raised in the article – namely that nearly all the brewers interviewed mentioned cleaning issues when using unusual ingredients, with some saying that tights make excellent teabag-like containers to hold them.
