How many years have you been a freelance illustrator?
I started getting some paid art gigs around 2010, but things didn’t really pick up until a couple of years later when I started to land some actual contracted jobs.
What can your work be applied to commercially?
The majority of commercial work I do is for publishing and marketing. Mostly book covers for science-fiction/fantasy novels, but then I’ll randomly get an email from someone wanting an album cover or concept art for a TV series, etc.
Where would you most like to see your illustrations being used?
I’m passionate about literature, so I like making book cover art, especially for stories with a subtler plot development. Or perhaps to have my work be used as propaganda for the dystopian New World Order… as long as I can do it while laughing menacingly from a golden throne whilst overlooking the cowardly minions below (just kidding).
What inspires you?
Truth, integrity, innovation. Also whiskey and ranch dressing.
Apart from illustration, what other skills do you have?
Graphic design, music, community building. Consuming whiskey, and ranch dressing.
