While this is not one of my regular commissions, it depicts my four friends having a supper at a creperie. Before I became a full time illustrator I had been an architect for 8 years working on high end projects with these wonderful people. I still miss the work environment and although we meet whenever we can, it isn’t the same. This piece shows my friends discussing a matter of “utmost importance” while inspecting details on their phones, as architects have trouble not discussing architecture at any given time. We may start any topic and end up discussing construction details. We’re a funny bunch. While I was watching them talk, smiling to myself, I decided to take multiple photos which helped me create this painting.
The artwork is 80x39cm in size, oil on board.
