I recently finished this original album art for Mo Dalis, a Blues/Rock musician from Alabama, who requested a scene taking place during a ’60s baseball little league game. I was asked to do this in my oil painted style, and it was one of the most complex paintings I have ever done. There was also a request to add Babe Ruth as the Umpire behind the hero boy pointing to the outfield. This was definitely challenging, but very satisfying, and I got a chance to really explore my preferred painting style. Looking at the work of ’50s illustrators and Norman Rockwell were very helpful in my process with this illustration.
