Bringing up Puffin
Posted 2 years ago and submitted by Vicky Scott | Share link:

I’ve created three puffin illustrations for the RSPB kids magazine. The designs accompany a lovely story about a baby puffin growing up, from egg all the way to leaving the nest and flying off to it’s own adventures. I created the design as a mixture of paper and fabric collage and you can see lots of bits of felt and cord for the fluffy puffins, as well as plenty of woolly jumper for the backgrounds too to give the pieces a textured and cuddly feel, perfect for kids!

We really loved working with Vicky. We noticed her artwork immediatley when trying to decide on an artist, because unlike a lot of retro artwork out there hers had a very natural and playful feel to it. Vicky took our feedback on-board, stayed enthusiastic and delivered more than we were expecting. We couldn’t have asked for more and we’re very happy to have her artwork featured in our #TileArt gallery.
