Aging and Transit: transit tool for New York’s Transit Center
Posted 3 years ago and submitted by Ed Tucker | Share link:

I was contacted by Hayley Richardson of New York’s Transit Center to produce some artwork for one of their “Transit Tools“, short leaflets outlining issues surrounding public transport in the United States. This particular one was centred around aging people and how public transport is failing them and needs to improve. I enjoyed playing with contrasts in this brief – between hindrance and ease, the rough with the smooth, and shades of grey with bright, vivid colour. It was also an absolute pleasure to produce, Hayley being a total joy to work with at every stage of the commission, the image developing and being directed to great mutual satisfaction and also because Hayley picked out one of my favourite pieces of personal work as the main stylistic reference for the illustration – it’s always very satisfying when personal work leads to commissions!
