Three Lions World Cup illustration for BBC Sport

I feel like I am now playing a very small part in the current national fervour; I was hired by BBC Sport again – this time to create a bombastic image of England as they clambered dramatically into the quarter finals. The brief was to depict Harry Kane, Gareth Southgate and Jordan Pickford riding three lions, as if they are going into battle.

Commissioning of the image was dependent on England beating Columbia in the last 16, so I had a lot riding on that game. Lo and behold it now looks like England are going all the way!

During the process, a re-draw of Harry Kane’s head was required because the original was too smiley. The final version is in two formats 16×9 for the live game and square for BBC Sport’s Instagram feed. Here’s to victory!

Paul Loudon created approximately 90 artworks for me for a series of children’s reading books. The brief was to create a set of characters in a naturalistic style to complement a more graphic approach within the books. We were extremely happy with the work Paul carried out and how well he hit the marks of the brief. His approach was considered and sympathetic to the series style and age-appropriate. His work was well-timed and amends were carried out promptly. I would definitely work with Paul again.
