Sazerac Company, working alongside Spar Advertising, tasked Steven Noble with rendering their new label illustration that depicts a street scene (French Quarter) from New Orleans in the 1700s, along with the added scrolls and lettering. The illustration was hand drawn on scratchboard in an etching style and printed on their packaging labels. The name “Legendre Absinthe” originally created Herbsaint which is a brand name of anise-flavored liqueur originally made as an absinthe-substitute in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1934.
