Portrait painting in-progress of three adorable pets who have their home in a USA mid-west neighbourhood. As referred to by their owner, these are Rhodesian Ridgebacks, bred originally as lion-hunting dogs in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. It is an awesome breed, but not for everyone as it needs a strong hand to handle them.
For a long wait to get an ideal gaze into the camera for me to make one portrait of a single pet, it was indeed a pleasant surprise to get a request to do all three in one considering how much I enjoy painting animals.
Now to turn to the fine-tuning of the painting to give that priceless moment and attention-to-detail to my piece. The most amazing part of my journey of completing any portrait is when I have to strategically place just a dot or two to give that live sheen before I sign off.
