One of my regular clients, Heritage Crafts in Staffordshire, to whom I provide a steady trickle of designs for their needlework products, asked me to give them something different for their subscriber newsletter.
I’m hugely fond of puns and wordplay, so, with Halloween looming, there’s no better time to share some Devil’s Advocaat.
As with many of my ‘Peter’s Puns’ contributions, a conversation or overheard comment can throw up the most intriguing of images in my head. If I don’t have my sketchbook at the time, I’ll tap the words into my phone for later exploration.
There are no specific requirements for the images, apart from me needing to bear in mind that the majority of their subscribers are mature females – I think the Edinburgh Tattooist with a bristly buttock may have caused a few palpitations!
