Illustrations for The Great Googlini

The latest book I illustrated (and the first chapter book I’ve worked on) launched this October. ‘The Great Googlini’ is a chapter book by Sara Cassidy, published by Orca Books. The story follows Filip, a young boy who learns his favorite uncle has cancer. When Filip tries to find answers on Google, he instead meets The Great Googlini – a tiny woman who appears from his computer.

I illustrated the cover, along with all the interior black and white artwork. The scenes range from humorous, to joyful, as well as tense and tearful. I tried to inject fun and warmth into the story, which is a special blend of fun storytelling along with a serious theme about a child coping when a loved one falls ill.
