Print exhibited as part of Glasgow Museums collection

I was recently chosen to be one of ten artists creating a print inspired by the outcomes of the queer times school project that took place in Summer 2018. Participants listened to speakers from the LGBTQIA+ community and deliberated on themes that emerged. These were then pulled together into a comprehensive brief. Artists were able to respond to this brief in our own ways. My print, ‘On A Horizon Of Becoming,’ was inspired by themes of queer temporality, futurity and utopia.

The print is being exhibited as part of the queer times school prints exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow and will enter the Glasgow Museums permanent collection. The exhibition runs from the 1st December 2018 to 10th March 2019.

From the GoMA website: “queer timɘs school prints is an exhibition exploring aspects of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Polysexual, Queer, Intersex + Allies (LGBTPQI+A) histories and experiences in Scotland from the past 50 years. Opening on World Aids Day, this exhibition is part of an art and citizenship project commissioned and acquired by Glasgow Museums from Jason E. Bowman, an artist with a curatorial practice.”
