A New Logo for Vancouver Quidditch League

Just this week the Vancouver Quidditch League unveiled their new logo (designed my me).

The three mountains represent Cypress, Grouse and Seymour Mountains – Vancouver’s local and most prominent mountains on the north shore. Together, the hoops and the golden snitch bring quidditch to Vancouver. The type was developed from a clean san serif typeface which I customized and morphed in areas to become more in tone with the style and shapes of the logo as a whole. It was important to use colour in a way that wouldn’t have it associated with any quidditch teams in the area, so a fair few colour combinations were ruled out at the beginning. With the snitch becoming such a large part of the logo in the development phase – gold/yellow now plays an important part of the visual and strikes attention.

If you’re based in Vancouver or know anyone who is and would be up for some fun, low-contact games – head over to their facebook page for more info.
