I’m happy to finally be able to share my cover illustration for Akhenaten: Egypt’s False Prophet, written by Dr Nicholas Reeves and published by Thames & Hudson. The client wanted to take “an unexpected approach to a book on Egyptian archaeology using a high-contrast, simple, graphic, black and white artwork integrating the title”, based on the original, contemporary carvings of Akhenaten. They requested a black and white lino print that allowed them to pick out the sun and rays in coloured or metallic foil. Here you can see my original print alongside the finished product.
