Fay Wildhagen and Only Humans Hand-Painted Logos

Working in the music industry has led to some very interesting projects. Oftentimes, guiding to a particular spot that I felt would benefit the project, client and their message, via incorporating traditional art more heavily in a final logo has been the most interesting of these projects. I’m talking about branding projects in which a hand-painted logo effectively communicates more than a highly clean-cut brand mark otherwise would. Some past branding that I created for Fay Wildhagen and Only Humans, as well as an indie artist in Avalanches, are excellent examples of this.

In all three instances (and several others), putting actual brush to paper was the key component to their creation, which winds up as a prominent part of the final product, while still being a solid brand mark. I feel a deep connection to all of the work I’ve created, but even more so with these logos. These and several other examples of my experience in branding as a designer can be seen in my portfolio.

Steve Pierce possesses a remarkable artistic range. From post-apocalyptic eye candy to post-modern interpretations of traditional science fiction and fantasy characters, his work speaks directly to our love of rich surrealism.
