My most recent children’s book for Brandylane Publishers is the story of a young woman determined to protect her town from an approaching army. It’s been a pleasure to bring the legend of Molly Tynes to life for this book. I love her spirit and strength and it was so fun to imagine her world and create it on the page. I used pencil and paper to create the initial drawings, and then painted the final images in Photoshop. I really enjoyed working in the Virginia setting and the historical setting as well; from research and finding reference images to painting the final works, it was interesting and fun.
