Illustrations for Irish Dancer Book
Posted 3 years ago and submitted by Katy Jackson | Share link:

I recently was commissioned to illustrate a book for an American client about an Irish dancing competition, a really lovely story about a girl practicing and preparing for the event. And also an interesting challenge to show movement and flow in the image, where the upper body is very still and lower body very active. I used a loose ink line to keep the look fresh, and bold splashes of colour. I really enjoyed working on this project for author Katherine Monahan and was pleased she was has happy with my illustrations!
