New, detailed, monochrome packaging artwork for Elder Pine Brewing and Blending, in the USA. I love packaging design and this project was quite challenging. The initial line art is based on intricate 19th century wood cuts, that I needed to translate to a functioning vector packaging design. I tried to keep the style as close to a carving as I could and loaded the design with details. To balance the busy design I used simple black and white contrast and a single blue Pantone on the can artwork itself.
My initial sketches were done by hand, digital drawing with a Wacom Intuos Art tablet in Adobe Photoshop, and final packaging layout in Adobe Illustrator.
Elder Pine loved the new can artwork and are also creating a mural of the line art for their brewery wall. Furthermore, I have since created a second can in a similar style which I will reveal in the next couple of weeks.
