The Fruits of the First Drawing Session

I recently moved from the US to the UK and a lot of things are the same, but not everything. Art paper is definitely different, I haven’t been able to buy my favourite drawing paper here (unless I order it). There is a pretty good supply store near me, so I’ve tried a couple of new papers called Clairefontain “paint on”, grey and natural (light tan) version. I’m finding the surface is quite hard and doesn’t accept my pencil very well. It easily smudges and it feels like I’m pushing the graphite around the page. I wanted to like it, and maybe I will after a little more time.
