The Land of Unlived Dreams, Middle School Readers Book
Posted 3 years ago and submitted by Rachel George | Share link:

This is the full cover spread I illustrated and designed for I.Q Malcom’s “The Land of Unlived Dreams“, a middle school reader novel about reclaiming lost dreams that was an absolute blast to illustrate for. The description of Balena, the giant whale who carries the city on their back had my hands ITCHING to get started.

The author had this to say on their social media when I sent the final cover across:
“I’m so happy right now that I could honestly cry. I just got the final cover for The Land of Unlived Dreams, and I can’t begin to express how much it means to me. Here is a little sneak peek for all of you. We’ll reveal the full cover next Saturday (4/20). Special thanks to @rachelgeorgeillo for bringing my book to life 😀😀😀”

Book Synopsis:

Soji Fairburn wants nothing more than to give her father hope. After the ten-year-old’s mother passed, her dad’s aspirations vanished without a trace. When she’s told of a magical world where lost dreams roam, she ignores her older brother’s objections and dives right in…

As Soji and her brother explore a fantastical realm, they gather the strangest friends along the way: a detective, a smuggler, and even a samurai. But their combined strength might not be enough to defeat a villain bent on turning their quest into a nightmare.

Can Soji restore her father’s dreams, or will an unspeakable evil stop her from living out her own?
