Necromancer Book Cover Illustration

Here’s a recent book cover commission that I created, entitled The Necromancer. This was a fun cover to paint for a couple of reasons. First, I’ve never painted a Necromancer so in order to get the character right I kinda had to mash-up a few ideas to get the right look. And second, I forced myself to go with a colour scheme that I wouldn’t normally choose to just push the envelope a bit. I think the finished result has the energy of a great sketch coupled with a believable character design.

Over the course of several series books, Simon has been an absolute pleasure to work with — he’s talented, professional, and detailed. He deftly translates entirely imagined worlds into amazing works of art that make those worlds real on the covers of our books. His talent speaks for itself in his portfolio and I would recommend him to anyone looking to work with an expert in character and scene illustration.
