Conveying moods through angles and perspectives

Engaging viewers is the hallmark of illustration. The impact of visual storytelling on the viewers make me constantly experiment with interesting perspectives and angles in creating a piece of illustration.

Conveying the mood of the scene allows me to utilise exaggerated facial expressions and body movements. This creates movement on a static page. The attached two illustrations convey different moods of fear and curiosity. Both are set in the night time, using a lot of blues, yet their different emotions are conveyed in the angle of their body in alignment with other elements within the illustrations.
