In this time of quarantine, reading comics can be a fun way to learn about our body, cells and how it works.
“A Stem Cell Adventure” was done in collaboration with the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, written by João Ramalho-Santos and published by Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra, in 2014. The goal of this book is to show what stem cells are, what they do, and how we can use them to heal our bodies.
It was distributed with the newspaper Público, in Portugal, and later published on EuroStemCell’s Issuu account, where you can read it for free.
Since this working on this book, science communication (in particular with comics) is something I’ve found I love to do, and I look forward to working on more projects like this.
Stay safe,
André
