Dark humour for dark times

Artists traditionally approach dark themes such as the current pandemic with humour. It’s a useful distraction method and helps alleviate some of the anxiety (as does making sourdough!).

I am working on digital pieces that combine traditional drawing, digital painting and photomontage, and using these to look at the impacts of self-isolation, such as boredom, anxiety and frustration. I will submit some to (UK topical) magazines as small hand-drawn cartoons, but for now, I want to explore the themes as finished artwork.
