Camphor Press recently published the book, The Flock of Ba-Hui and other stories, a collection of Lovecraft inspired Chinese horror stories translated into English. I was asked by Arthur Meursault, one of the translators, to illustrate the cover for the book. Their idea was to create an illustration inspired by the one of the 1930s Astounding Stories covers, which was for the H.P. Lovecraft story At The Mountains of Madness. My job was to create something of a homage to the Astounding Stories cover, but illustrating the The Flock of Ba-Hui and in a retro mid-century style. The typography design was completed by the publisher.
The book is available for purchase on Barnes and Noble, Amazon and through the Camphor Press online store.
