In expectation of an upcoming exhibit of my Faces on the Ferry work, I created a new triptych of images to fill a (literal) fourth wall, called The Stillness Between. As a whole, this extension of my art project helped me express some ideas I’ve been having about motherhood, femininity, and finding tranquility in these troubled times.
The Stillness Between will eventually be realized as silkscreen prints. Due to the coronavirus, my beloved printmaker space, AGA LAB, is closed. Once it’s open again, I’ll be hand printing these artworks. The flanking motherhood images will be 40×50 cm. The middle image, Hush, will be 50×70 cm.
Be calm and stay afloat.
