The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe

I’ve always wanted to illustrate Narnia and finally I have done! Here’s my own version of children’s classic The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, set in the beautiful, enchanted, snowy surroundings of Narnia. The White Witch looms large over the image, keeping the land in permanent winter, whilst in the centre is the famous scene of Lucy meeting Mr Tumnus. I created the design as a paper cut collage, with lots of added textures from splattering acrylic paints onto paper for the snow and mountains. I’ve also tried to give the scene and the type in particular a retro, early 20th century feel.

I’m selling the design in my Etsy shop as a limited edition print.

Vicky is friendly and creative, and her style is bright, fun and very eye-catching. Working in stages from rough concept to finished art, she was open to feedback and willing to accommodate amends and a couple of extras along the way. It was an absolute pleasure working with her and hope I get the opportunity again in the near future.
