Dragon Sword Book Cover

Just finished my cover illustration and design for ‘Dragon Sword – Demon’s Fire Book 1’ by Christopher Patterson. It was fun to create not only the illustration, but also design the title artwork for this book cover. For the illustration, I wanted to convey the heat and intensity of the dragon’s fire behind the knight, but also the coldness of the sword that he’s holding. The title artwork had to have a medieval feeling to it, but still be easily readable and ‘fit’ as part of the overall cover. A challenging project, but it was a lot of fun as I enjoy painting all things fantasy.

Over the course of several series books, Simon has been an absolute pleasure to work with — he’s talented, professional, and detailed. He deftly translates entirely imagined worlds into amazing works of art that make those worlds real on the covers of our books. His talent speaks for itself in his portfolio and I would recommend him to anyone looking to work with an expert in character and scene illustration.
