Drawn from Childhood

Hello! This is the illustration I created for my business card and self-promotion. It’s a self-portrait of me as a child and it’s inspired by my own childhood drawings. The puppy is a nod to the dog I used to have as a child, and also to the one I have now, both Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

I really do believe that an illustrator is just a child that kept on drawing as an adult and wanted my work to reflect that. Using my own childhood artwork as inspiration really kept this illustration fresh and true to what makes my art unique. I hope you enjoy it!

"I just wanted to thank you for the great job you did to make my book come alive with your skilled mastery in designing the illustrations. For example, by bringing out the characters’ personal expressions matching each situation as the stories unfolded, you added the sparkle needed for the text to develop. This demonstrated that you cared not just for the artwork, but also, its context in the story itself. You did your work well.”
