Carnivorous botanicals

I was commissioned to paint botanical illustrations of 14 carnivorous plants. The aim was to picture their real appearance in the best light to appeal to carnivorous plants enthusiasts. Some of the plants were really fun to draw and some of them were more challenging, especially if they didn’t have any flowers or interesting features. Others, for change, were quite complicated in shape. I learnt a lot about these specific plants in order to really understand their structure to be able to paint them effectively throughout the project. My client was very happy with the outcome and quality of the work.

Veronika is very talented and is professional in her communication. From the very beginning she made me feel understood and was a genuine pleasure to work with. Her execution of the idea and project was better than I could have imagined ever myself! I can't recommend working with her strongly enough without it sounding over the top... but that's precisely how I feel about the finished work I received from her- over the top thrilled with the final work.
