I recently signed up for the ‘Ideation and Visual Storytelling’ course at Visual Arts Passage. For this assignment I had to illustrate a scene from a sci-fi short story and I chose “Nightfall” by Isaac Asimov. Written in 1941, “Nightfall” is a novelette about the coming of darkness to the people of a planet ordinarily illuminated by sunlight at all times. They have a innate fear of the dark and have never experienced an extended period of global darkness. In this scene the much awaited eclipse has finally come, along with mass hysteria as everyone is now desperately searching for any source of light…

Testimonial
Over the course of several series books, Simon has been an absolute pleasure to work with — he’s talented, professional, and detailed. He deftly translates entirely imagined worlds into amazing works of art that make those worlds real on the covers of our books. His talent speaks for itself in his portfolio and I would recommend him to anyone looking to work with an expert in character and scene illustration.
