A project done for my hometown’s gallery Anton Art Center’s poster campaign competition: Mask Up Macomb. The main goal of the illustration in the brief was to blend together the ideas of community, safety, and continuing to be conscious of the current pandemic as well as others.
I wanted to have my illustration inspired directly by nature, and the resurgence of spending more time outdoors. My hometown has a lot of wonderful parks and trails, and I wanted to challenge myself by illustrating a park scene. I was inspired by vintage park posters and I chose ’70s style colors for this to give it a warm, retro feeling that accents the illustration and energizes it.
